Employee Absenteeism: HR tips for managing employees who are chronically late or absent.
The Department of Labor (DOL) has changed how we classify those employees who are exempt from overtime and those not-exempt. They have also announced efforts to employers for improperly classifying workers as Exempt when the employee is actually Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Knowing employee classification not only avoids DOL repercussions, but also possible litigation from employees. The session will concentrate on the various tests the DOL will use to determine status, and we will answer the most common questions that trip up even the most seasoned professional. This session is especially relevant since a new DOL test was just released that changes guidelines and salary requirements, and may affect the new generation of employees you hire.
