Call of the Day: Late Employees

We have an employee who is consistently late.  We’ve talked to her numerous times, but she is still late.  We don’t know what to do!


Late to one person is on-time to another.  Talk to your employee and share with her when she is late.  Some people view being late as 1-minute after start time, while other thinks late is 20-minutes after start time.  If she continues to be late after that conversation, document it in a Performance Improvement Plan explaining that the next time she is late, she will be terminated.  If she continues to be late, you have to follow through and let her go.
